9:30-10:00 — Discussion: How does planning a program that rocks hinge on providing the grounds for establishing a Scout run unit? Pass out copies of guided-discovery.pdfand have attendees take turns reading sections aloud. Open floor to discussion. 

10:00-10:30 — Presentation and Discussion: Go online and project http://programresources.org. Proceed to Ceremonies Index and use it as a point of reference to take a tour of the Ceremonies section. What advantage do you see in presenting different versions of opening and closing ceremonies chosen by the youth leaders? Distribute printouts for activities, ceremonies, and leaders’ minutes, along with blank troop meeting planning sheets.

10:30-11:00 — Activity: Using the planning sheets and printouts as a resource, participants assume the role of their unit’s planning team and fill in the content for each section of their troop meeting agenda.

11:00-11:20 — Discussion: Participants share their plans.

Friday p.m.

1:30-2:00 — Presentation and Discussion: Go online and project http://troopleader.org/program-features/. View the Program Features video, and take a tour of the program features section of the Troop Leader Resources website with the main focus on the meeting plans for the monthly themes. Open the floor to comments and questions.

2:00-2:30 — Activity: Play Blindfolded Steal the Bacon

2:30-2:45 — Activity: Play Identifying Sounds

2:45-2:55 — Presentation: Teach “Ging Gang Goolie” prefaced with story of how and why B.-P. wrote it. Teach Class-A Clap.

2:55-3:00 — Presentation: View: Putting Skills Into Action and  We Are Scouts and pass out 10-dutch-oven-recipes
